How would things have changed if the Pegasus and the Galactica had met up right at the start?

How would Adama have dealt with working for Admiral Cain? What sort of working relationship would Roslin and Cain have had? Would Cain have taken any notice of her? Would there have been a Fleet at all? How would the rest of the crew react?

Although English is not my original language, I'll make the effort to write my fic to that language. I'm writing a fic that takes place just before Daybreak.
